Jacobs, Mary E. (20 Mar 1954 - 25 Augl 2002)

Mary E. Jacobs, 48, Greenwood, died on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, in the emergency room of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 30, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, and from noon until a 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood. The Rev. Michael Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Feit, Greg Herrick, David Jacobs, Michael Wozniak, Bill Pongratz, Michael Bukolt, Victor Bukolt Jr. and Richard Pongratz Jr.

Mary Ellen Przekurat was born on March 20, 1954, in Stevens Point, to Emil and Phylis (nee Collins) Przekurat. She lived in Marshfield as a young child and attended elementary school there. Her family moved to Stevens Point, where she graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1972. She married Richard Charles Jacobs on Dec. 22, 1972, in Arpin. She worked at Bethel Nursing Home for two years and then became a full-time mother and homemaker. They moved to Greenwood in 1982 and purchased a farm, where she resided until the time of her death. Her interests included spending time with her family, bird-watching, gardening, and the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include her husband, Richard, Greenwood; eight children, Richard Jacobs Jr., Greenwood, Tracy Jacobs, Marshfield, Henry Jacobs, Greenwood, Dale Jacobs, Greenwood, and Therese Jacobs, Luke Jacobs, Jesse Jacobs and Jeanne Jacobs, all at home; one grandson, Brett; one granddaughter, Erika; her father and stepmother, Emil and Carrie Przekurat, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Jeanne (Trip Sonntag) Przekurat, Albuquerque, and Susan (Ethan) Epstein, Houston, Texas; three brothers, Randy (Tammy) Przekurat, Apache Junction, Ariz., Gary (Jean) Przekurat, Farmington, N.M., and Rob (Rose) Przekurat, Albuquerque.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Phyllis; a sister, Patty; and her grandparents.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
